Elizabeth Arden Prevage Eye Anti-Aging Moisturizing Treatment

Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Eye Anti-Aging Moisturizing Treatment contains a healing mixture of water, silicones, and sea algae. Advertised as “anti-everything” that ages skin around our eyes, it contains antioxidants not found in many competing brands, such as hydroxydecyl ubiquinone, also known as idebenone. This chemical cousin of coenzyme-Q10 is such a potent antioxidant that it can actually irritate the skin, although Elizabeth Arden uses the safer idebenone ester form of the chemical. It is especially helpful for sun-aged skin, preventing the formation of crow’s feet and laugh lines. The formula is silky smooth (and some competing products that contain more idebenone are not), and the sodium hyalouronate helps the skin “firm up” collagen fibers that give it tensile strength to resist the tiny bruises that form around acne-related blemishes.

What Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Eye Anti-Aging Moisturizing Treatment will not do is to deflate puffiness or bags under the eyes or relieve dark circles under the eyes. The titanium oxide in the formula can whiten and lighten skin, but any dark areas under the eyes will remain dark to the skin on the rest of the face. A better option for circles under the eyes is a good concealer.

Suggested retail price: US $98 for 0.5 oz.
